So I was thinking today about newbies in affiliate marketing. In general, it is scary to spend money advertising especially if your budget is low. I remember the good ol' days in the nineties when you could just set up an easy adwords campaign, directly link to the affiliate site and BAMM SHAZAAM!! Commissions came-a-rollin' in just a few minutes!! No kidding, one time I spent $50 and within the first five minutes of running my ad, I had $162 in my brand new Clickbank account within minutes.
Nowadays, Google makes you work harder to run a competitive ad and keyword costs have gone up along with the price of gasoline. So now what??
That brings me to the point of this article. What's the deal with free classifieds advertising? It is useful and affective? I asked this question in forums and I have gotten some sarcastic answers back coated with affiliate links. I cant discern if the replies of the public were honest. The only way to find out or at least get some idea about running a classified ads ..... is to just be the lab rat in this experiment. Yep, I will be running classifieds ads all week long. In exactly 7 days from now.... (Monday Aug. 12th at 12 noon) I will post my results.
It will be boisterous tell-all....
I am not going to do it the easy way, that got us chunks of traffic and sales. You will know what free classified sites I used, what products or banners I promoted, where I got them from and how much money I made (if I make any at all). I will be pulling out all of my handy-dandy affiliate marketing tools from my treasure chest. I will hold nothing back.
After all, it wont cost me a dime. Sure I am sacrificing a little time each day from swimming with my kids... but after all... with the volume of marketing I plan to do within this experiment, I just need a few conversions to make enough money to make it worth my time.
Speaking of swimming with my kids...I am off to make a splash, have some fun... and I will be back later on today to share some more nuggets with you.
