How To Market On Youtube

How's it going today??

I slept in, so now I feel like (at almost 4:30 pm) the whole day has totally gotten away from me.  I guess I took the liberty of sleeping in because I knew my mother-in-law was here and she would make that sweet cereal like only a grandmother could make it... LOL

It is blazing hot here in Florida!!! I could not even sit by the pool to post this topic today. I had to come back inside.

Ok well onto today's topic:
How to market on YouTube

I came across this question on the web and I thought I would take a shot at answering it. Here is the long version:

Marketing on Youtube is just like anything else.  You can put a video on the web, but if no one knows you have it... then your video is no more visible to the world than your hot blog about fashion or your great drop shipping website.  You have to spread the word.  If simply uploading your video to YouTube has not earned you enough visitors, then you need to take further action. Fortunately, today there are so many free and (inexpensive) ways to do it. Some methods may take some time, some may take no time at all. I will start with the time consuming methods first:

**SIDE NOTE: Before you begin showing off your fantastic video, (even if you are not doing this as an affiliate with the intent to make any money from your video)  figure out what keyword a person might type into a YouTube search in order to find you faster.** Here is a helpful article to address this part

Quick, Rapid Exposure.  Less than 1 hour to set up and your fans should come-a-runnin' gradually :

1) Use a search engine submitter.
Lots of people have success with this method. It is quick and worth every penny.  People spend more money on fast food than they would need to spend to get the job done quickly (submitted to search engines for quick rapid traffic)

2) Submit your video to as many video sharing sites as possible.
I posted an article about this here.
You can even load your video onto a simple blog page.  Add a little "get to know my stuff" content. Inject your crazy humor, or your serious side ...whatever floats your boat.   Add a teaspoon of CTA ("Call-To-Action... meaning what you want your visitors to do) like share your video with their Facebook crowd or Tweet your video.  Tell your viewers in your blog page or in your video what you want them to do.  Heck! Go ahead and slide an affiliate link related to your topic... it can't hurt to make a couple of bucks from the swarm of traffic you are set up to receive!!

Invest a little time, get a lot of return:

1) Publish some articles in some of the top 3 article sharing sites. (3 should suffice)
You can write one good one and make 3 variations of it. Then place one in each article account that you set up. In the resource box for your article, place the link back to your video.
Copy and paste the actual URL where your article was published. Paste the URL's into a notepad or word program on your computer. Make sure the title of your article has the title of your video. This is the keyword that you want people to find you for in the search engines.

2) Socially bookmark each of the links for your articles (those 3 URL's that I mentioned above).
I like to use Digg, Sumbleupon, Tumblr, and a bunch of others.  If you have a little money to spare  I recommend using Onlywire.com or you could just use Socialmarker.   This will let all of the social bookmarking sites know that your beautiful video "has arrived".  This submission happens quickly but I listed in the "invest a little time " category because you have to first establish your free accounts with each social bookmarking site individually before you can share the link to your video and article sites.

SIDE NOTE:  You can try just submitting your video's URL with the social bookmarking sites and not your article URL's . I just suggested the article sites and writing because article sites have high PR (page rank) and a backlink from sites like those is like getting a letter of recommendation from a Prestigious School to the place you want to be accepted (i.e. your spotlight for a major keyword)

Well, I hope this helps.  I had quite a few people this weekend ask me about this.  I am a marketer, so naturally when I think of videos, I think of monetizing.  Forgive me.
